Nature, especially the plant world forms the inspiration behind every sculptural work and jewellery piece.
After graduating inTextile Art, I spent many years creating site specific artworks, residencies and running workshops, always with nature as the focus.
My work crossed borders between sculpture, textiles and jewellery and has evolved into creating wearable sculptural pieces.
All About Leaves encompasses this journey and aims to promote the beauty found in nature and to celebrate the diversity of trees.
Within larger sculptural artworks or environmental art workshops, I use materials discarded by trees and organic waste generated by gardeners or rangers where the work is produced. Where possible, materials are re-used such as poles, peat free compost or charcoal.
When fresh material is gathered, meticulous attention is focused on ensuring no insects are living on the undersides or within the leaves themselves. Material is only taken where there is an abundance.

Within my jewellery work, studies are made of blossom, leaves and seeds, to inform the finished piece. Recycled metal is used where possible. Vintage or hand made beads from natural materials are used to adorn the work.
Recycling, sustainability and a reverence for nature form the foundation for All About Leaves.
